Is Net On A Ship Really Needed?

    By CruiseDirector | October 20, 2009

There are so many complaints almost daily from people who are on five star cruises because of the fact they cannot access the internet very well at all. You should be damn grateful that you can even get anywhere near the internet at all. You are at sea and for the connection to be good all of the time should not be expected as so many things are out there to block the signal?

Sometimes it is the costs that get on peoples nerves. This is because cruise companies will charge a bit extra for you to go onto the internet to check mail, send pictures or do a bit of work. The thing is if you wanted to use the internet that much then you would surely just stay at home? Cruises are meant to be fun and relaxing and are not meant to be spent in the computer room reading e-mails and talking to someone over MSN.

If you were away anywhere else you wouldn’t expect to use the internet but because it is there then people must simply use it time and time again. Why people just cannot wait to get home and use the internet is beyond me which is why I do not see how people have the right to complain.

What is the point in spending money on using the internet when you could be playing in the games room or having a nice dinner meal? People also love to send all kinds of fancy pictures home over the internet. Why is this even done? Your family and friends can wait until you get home with the camera to look at all the amazing photos you have taken.

So whether it is one of those nice Rhine river cruises or perhaps one of those Silversea cruises just enjoy it.

The best piece of advice to take from all of this, just relax and enjoy your cruise!!
