Cruising In Luxury – What You Need

    By CruiseDirector | May 30, 2009

Even people who have been on lots of cruises previously will find a luxury cruise very different. They are definitely just as fun but have a formal element to them as well. There are events and activities taking place all over the boat but the quality is often higher than you might find on other cruises. If you have never been on a luxury cruise however, you may not know what are the important things to take. Below are some of the best recommendations.

Smart dress/suit.  Apart from your other smart-casual wear which you will need when walking about the boat, it is advisable to take at least one smart suit /dress. This will be needed for shows and dances that you could be attending, but you will need it also for the more formal meals where you could be eating with the captain if you are lucky.

Camera. The thing that luxury cruises do have in common with the vast amount of other cruises is that there will be a huge amount of new things to see and experience.  Whether you are going on oceania cruises or river cruises, a camera will help you keep a record of all the lovely sun-sets, the incredible wildlife and the great entertainment that you will get on board. Also, how will you show off to your friends and family if you don’t have hard evidence of your travels

A good book. Whilst it is true that you maybe find yourself very busy with all that is going on the ship, a good book is still an essential. You will have to have some down-time at some point as no one can keep moving indefinitely. Finding a secluded part of the ship, putting your feet up and reading your favorite author whilst looking out at the ocean is the best way to do this.
