Oasis of the Seas Launch Anxiously Awaited

    By CruiseMuse | July 17, 2009

Oasis of the Seas will set sail on it’s maiden voyage in December 2009, and will feature amenities and luxury beyond imagination. With every activity you could ever want on a cruise ship, you will wonder if a week is long enough to take it all in.

If you are considering a Caribbean cruises, you might want to put a sailing date on this huge ship into your plans. The fact that this will be the largest cruising class ship in operation, is just one reason to sail her. I would love to say I was on board in her maiden season.

Royal Caribbean cruises are always a cut above the rest, and on the cutting edge, but the innovation of the Oasis of the Seas is astounding. The ship will feature the cruise line’s neighborhood concept, with seven themed areas throughout the ship that offer different experiences for guests to choose. Depending on your mood, or personal preferences, you can choose to be in whatever atmosphere fits you at the time. There is a seaside entertainment esplanade, with a Boardwalk atmosphere that includes eateries, retail outlets, carnival games, and an original, handcrafted carousel. Of course, the carousel is another first at sea.

And nine decks above, you can hop on the first zip-line at sea, taking you from end to end on a aerial thrill. The Boardwalk will lead you to the AquaTheater at the stern of the ship. This outdoor amphitheater – another first at sea – is a breathtaking performance venue at night, that features acrobatics, synchronized swimming, water ballet, professional high-diving, and elaborate fountain shows synchronized to music and lights.

The sailing dates for Oasis of the Seas will be for the Eastern Caribbean only December 2009 through April 2010, then will alternate between Eastern and Western Caribbean beginning May 2010. This ship is really too unbelievable for words – you’ve got to see pictures! If  you’re considering a Caribbean cruises, this is the one not to miss.
